Monarch Butterfly Day

  • The North Carolina Arboretum 100 Frederick Law Olmsted Way Asheville, NC, 28806 United States (map)

 No Pre-registration Required

Cost: All activities are free, though standard parking fees apply, including $20.00 per personal vehicle.

Join us for a celebration of the amazing monarch butterfly, and the public opening of the Arboretum's Playing Woods! This event will include fun for all ages, including informative lectures, craft activities and special nature play activities as we celebrate the opening of our outdoor nature playscape, the Playing Woods. Learn more about the monarch butterfly and how you can help this species; and wish several monarchs a safe journey as we release wild-caught and tagged butterflies into our gardens on their way to Mexico.
