What? A Pollinator Safari at a golf course? That’s right, you don’t have to go all the way to Africa to see exotic animals!
There is a large pollinator garden on the Asheville Municipal Golf Course’s back nine thanks to the hard work of Beverly Hills neighbors in collaboration with the Golf Course. The Neighborhood Association received a City of Asheville Neighborhood Matching Grant to purchase the plants and install the garden. And Muni is currently adding two more acres of native habitat to the center of the golf course between the 13th and 14th holes!
To reach the pollinator garden, participants have three parking options: along Kensington Road, Edgewood Road East, or Fairway Drive.
Join Florrie Funk to get to know as many pollinators as possible during the Golf Course’s annual Audubon International Bioblitz. This event is one of the ways the Course is meeting its commitment to the Wildlife/Habitat Management and Education/Outreach requirements for its Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Certification.
